Alpine
Serving the Children of the World

Kiwanis Club of Alpine is part of a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time.

Approximately 600 people came out in support of our 23rd Annual Vintage Alpine event held Sunday.  Proceeds from this event fund our service account, allowing us to support a lengthy list of community service projects with special emphasis on supporting the youth in our community.

We are the third largest Kiwanis Club in our District (California, Nevada and Hawaii), and have established a reputation for excellence within Kiwanis International as one of the largest and most active clubs.

Our Club has donated over $800,000 to Rady Children's Hospital since 1986!

We were named "Organization of the Year" at the 2010 Alpine Leadership and Public Service Awards for the third year running. We also received the 2011 Alpine Sun Newsmaker Award for the second year running for the Kiwanis of Alpine Veterans Wall of Honor!  Our 2008-09 President, Dan Foster, received the Special Recognition Award.  At the 2009, 2011 and 2012 District Conventions, we received an award for the Best Website in the Cal-Nev-Ha District.  At the 2010 and 2012 District Conventions we received an award for the Best Newsletter in the Cal-Nev-Ha District.

We are known not only for our service to the children of the world, especially those living in Alpine, but also for our camaraderie and fellowship, and for the fun we have making our community a better place for everyone.

When asked, "What makes the Kiwanis Club of Alpine so successful?", member Charles Nelson replied,

"It is the work.  The work we do is the engine for building and maturing the club. People who join the club are from all walks of life but have in their heart something in common. That is a desire to improve the quality of life in their community and to help children grow and live life successfully. The work provides an opportunity for members to work together forming teams and expanding acquaintenance with each other. Our common motives quickly build mutual appreciation of each other.  The teamwork matures and builds a family and we care about each other. This process that makes such a contribution to community and children yields an unmatched experience for all of us."
